Last Friday was a blissful day -- I got to drive to the Oakland airport to pick up Andrew. On the way, I thought about how important that disastrously unorganized airport has become to me. It's the site of so many tearful hellos and goodbyes, and the car ride back to Stanford is either filled with excited chatter as Andrew and I catch up on all the little things we never think to say over the phone, or jazz music as I drive back after dropping him off. For some reason, jazz music always seems to fit the tragic mood I find myself in after saying goodbye to Andrew.
We enjoyed ridiculously warm weather for February and chilled at the tables outside for awhile, digesting the surprisingly filling cupcakes.Anyhoo-- we had 3 blissful days together for the long weekend, and I wanted to share some of our fun! I took him to the best cupcake shop, Sprinkles. Red velvet is my favorite.
That night, we dressed up all fancy to have our Valentine's dinner at an Italian place in Palo Alto called Lavenda. We went there last year, too. This year we had a yummy baked mozzarella and garlic appetizer, lavender lemonade, and pasta.
Andrew wore his spiffy jacket I gave him for Christmas and I wore a pretty purple dress my mom got for me last weekend. Thanks, mom!
On Sunday, we went to the Berkeley flea market with my roommate, Kiana and her boyfriend. Somehow I didn't get a picture of all of us together, but here's a shot of the awesome drum circle I hope to someday join. I came pretty close to buying my own djembe, but luckily I didn't have the cash on me. I'll be saving for one, though!
We ate dinner in Berkeley and then went to see Up in the Air back in Redwood City. Definitely recommended.
It was such an incredible weekend -- three days of pure joy. I can't imagine what it will be like to not only see Andrew every day, but to be MARRIED to him. Yay! The wedding's coming soon.... 3 months from last Monday. But for now, I'm missing this face.
